Special rules for the 2019/20 acad. year

Final mark

The final mark for the course is calculated according to the course description sheet (see above), i.e. lecture and laboratory have equal weights of 50%. Should a result fall exactly in the middle of an interval, it is rounded upwards (e.g. 3.5 × 50% + 4.0 × 50% = 3.75 → 4.0).

Course credit

As provided in § 19(7) of Study Regulations, students who fail to pass this course until the end of the following examination period are required to retake both the lecture and the laboratory parts.

The lecturer or the laboratory coordinator, respectively, may decide otherwise in individual cases upon request of the student concerned, depending on his/her current situation as well as on his/her previous results. Such a request must be made in the first week of classes at the latest. Any later request will be denied.

Regarding the lecture, you should contact the lecturer, while regarding the laboratory, the laboratory coordinator who will decide after consulting your teacher. If you talk to Prof. Napieralski in person, considering that he does not enter marks himself, you should make sure his decision (if positive) reaches the laboratory coordinator in writing (eg by e-mail) directly; it is suggested that you write an e-mail to Prof. Napieralski with a carbon copy to the laboratory coordinator.
